Ballrooms of Mars - Episode XI: From A Newly Unveiled Undisclosed Location

By its very nature, BoM must always be on the move lest we unwittingly grant our enemies some kind of tactical advantage through a random unforced error. Therefore, BoM has wisely decided to relocate, if only briefly, in a move designed to test our broadcast mobility in the event of a natural or man-made disaster, as well as give another BoMrade a chance to host.

Peter has graciously stepped up to the plate...

Corrections (from JR):

1. Apologies for mistakenly mentioning in my introduction that Ethel Waters "died on Halloween", when she was in fact born on Halloween, in 1896. I corrected this later in the broadcast.
2. I fucked up my mention of Bob Atcher "being born" on Halloween in 1912, when in fact he died on Halloween in 1993. Whoopsie-daisy.

miniBoM1: A Very Special Episode

We're dropping a very different kind of BoM tonight, as some Ballrooms of Mars members have far more busy lives than the remaining members can currently claim. (Godspeed, Michael.)

As a result, a solid two-thirds of BoM gathered its energies and recorded a Very Special Episode - a "MiniBoMlet" as it were...despite that the total recorded length has nothing "mini" whatsoever about it.

(Note to selves: Cut the chatter.)

We dedicate this episode to the King of Rock & Soul, a true mountain of influence to all those under his shadow:

Ballrooms of Mars - Episode VIII: Unleashing the Love

Summertime is for lovers, which may help explain BoM's absence during most of this hottest-summer-on-record-in-the-making.

--Not that we don't love; we indeed love too much. We've been loving so much during these last few months, in fact, that we routinely - and sadly - ran out of time to drop our semi-monthly BoM.

But we're back, and we like to think that we're keeping good company...

...even if it's not entirely true.

It's an overrated month, anyway. But we shall return.

Update: July sucks, too.

Ballrooms of Mars - Episode VII: Cross-Training

Cross-training (also known as conditioning) refers to training in different ways to improve overall performance. It takes advantage of the particular effectiveness of each training method, while at the same time attempting to neglect the shortcomings of that method by combining it with other methods that address its weaknesses - e.g., effectively combining distance-running, pop, krautrock, rap, electronic and hip-hop.

Proper conditioning in preparation for the BoM7-Produkt includes Kraftwerk:
